The Matthew Larson Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications.  This separately funded and distinct Scholarship Fund will award four five hundred dollar scholarships.  The scholarships will be awarded to two Indian Hills High School seniors and two Ramapo High School seniors.

The scholarships will be presented upon graduation in memory of young Matthew Larson, a RIH district student who attended Woodside Avenue Elementary School in Franklin Lakes. The scholarships will be awarded through the RHS and IHHS Guidance Departments to the four students chosen who best reflect the characteristics that defined Matthew Larson’s  short life.

If you are a high school senior and feel you have displayed courage, a strong mind, a big heart, a positive attitude and a never give up personality please stop by your guidance counselor for an application or download an application from our website at www.ironmatt.org

1. Completed Scholarship 2010 Application Form (separate form).

2. A separate essay that describes your most compelling self-portrayal and describes to the selection committee your will to succeed. The essay must be typed, double-spaced and be 200 words or less.

3. A typewritten list of extra-curricular and community service activities.

4. Letters of recommendation from two individuals who are not related to you. One letter must be from a teacher.

All completed applications must be postmarked by Saturday,May 15th, 2010 and sent to:

The Matthew Larson Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (also known as IronMatt.org) is a public 501(c)(3) foundation organized for charitable purposes and is classified for tax purposes as a tax exempt public foundation. IronMatt.org was created by the family and friends of 7 year old Matthew James Larson, who lost a 5 year battle with brain and spinal tumors in April 2007. All donations no matter big or small will help our mission: To raise the awareness and funds needed to overcome pediatric brain tumors and to help the children and families affected by it.
